Just a quick blog today to introduce you to my amazing family. Enjoy!!
Several years ago I got a very clear sense that I will likely live to be 100. I was extremely sick when I had this thought and it truly frightened me!
As I prayed and pondered this, I began to see things more clearly. So clear that I actually shared it all with a large ladies group one Christmas.
I began to see my life as four quarters. For the ladies group that I shared this with, I got four quarters for each lady. I then colored the edge of one quarter for each lady with a red Sharpie.
This is what became clear to me. One quarter is 25 and four equals 100. Many of us will likely live to be close to 100, so we can think about our lives in quarters.
Age is time. Right? Age is simply the passing of time and we all understand that time is precious. What we do with our time is important because we are doing one of two things with each and every minute.
We are either spending our time or investing our time.
The first quarter, age 1 to 25, is usually spent without a whole lot of thought about investing. We are getting through school, making and losing friends, and often this is the time of finding our spouses and thinking about starting a family.
The second quarter, age 26 to 50, is certainly sprinkled with thoughts of investing, but such a busy time that most of our time is still spent simply getting through it all. Focusing on work or careers and getting the kids through school. Finding the right place to raise a family and settle in.
Before you realize it, you are in that third quarter, age 51 to 75. This happens to be where I am now. And believe me, this is when investing becomes a priority. Even though we are using quarters for this story, I'm really not talking about money. Yes, wise financial investing is important, but very few take the time to consider the time investments they are making.
I realized that if I don't focus on investing in people now, there will be no return on my investment in my fourth quarter, when I will need it most. In my fourth quarter I will be weaker and a little more vulnerable. I will need relationships that I have poured time into.
How many quarters do you have left? What do you have to invest? I am 55 years old so I have 20 more years in my third quarter. What a gift!!! 20 years to share, care, learn more, give more, believe the best, and to do my best.
I don't want my motive to be all about what's in it for me. However, I do not want to simple spend any time I am blessed with. I want to value time and people and invest well!
Have a happy health-filled day!
I am noticing 2 major topics trending on Facebook right now. Interesting thing is that I am pretty familiar with both.
The first one is Detoxing. I posted a blog about detoxing a few days ago, but it's still big news out there. I think it's an obvious topic for a new year, but I also think the times we live in are contributing to this as well.
It won't take you long to find almost equal experts for detoxing as experts against it. The argument with most that are against it is that our bodies were created to be self detoxing. I certainly agree with the premise of this argument but certainly cannot agree with it logically today, Our food supply and over toxic environment have wreaked havoc on our organs that were designed to do this work for us. The other predominant argument against detoxing is that most detox programs and/or products are too extreme and hard on the body. This is one argument I definitely agree with!!
The research and studying we have done on detoxing makes a lot of sense. All degenerative disease comes from cellular inflammation. All experts agree with this. Cellular inflammation comes from toxins invading the body and compromising cells. A healthy cell is able to allow nutrients in and toxins out. An inflamed cell actually becomes hard and rigid and less capable of letting the good in and the bad out. It really is that simple.
The challenge is finding a way to clean the body at the cellular level. Our years of research on this subject brought us to an inert mineral called Zeolite. A fascinating mineral indeed. A mineral that has the power to attract toxins and remove them from the body. There are lots of Zeolite products available but there are some key things that make it a QUALITY product that really can do this work. As you begin to research this mineral for yourself, compare all that you find to the one offered by Touchstone Essentials, Pure Body and Pure Body Extra Strength. I am confident that you will find, like we did, that there really is no others that compare because of the "size" and "proprietary processing" of Touchstone Essentials.
The other trend I am seeing is in quite a different direction. That is online business training. Every other post or so seems to be about the importance of learning how to do business online. I get it! That really is the world we live in. The issue is figuring out who really knows how to do it the best, because let's be honest, they all say they are the ONE.
I have spent the last couple of weeks digging into a few of them simply to understand it better myself. I also thought I would discover which one or ones I would be comfortable recommending. So, here's my 2 cents!
I think if you are truly an entrepreneur and don't already have a product or service that you are passionate about, one of these programs might be worth the investment. You will invest somewhere between $500 and $10k to help you define your passion and maybe discover your product or service to offer. I think most of them have tremendous ideas and tools once you have found the self-motivation. That being said, none of them have anything that you can't find on your own. What they are passionate about selling is saving you time. The number 1 pitch is that you don't have to make the mistakes that they have already made to get it right. Don't get me wrong, I think the support and structure is well worth investing in, however, know that since they are selling online help, most of the help they offer is online. You will rarely have a live person to help you.
One of the main reasons we believe so strongly in the network marketing model is because of the personal upline investment that is a natural part of network marketing. Even though we too must adapt to doing more of our business online, we don't have to pay for the kind of training these programs sell as long as we have truly dedicated upline people. Much of what these programs pride themselves on providing are things that are provided freely in network marketing. Things like tools, systems, personal growth coaching, and strategy building. Not to mention a product that you have already falling in love with!
So to sum up today's blog.......I do believe in proper detoxing and the product I recommend is Touchstone Essentials Pure Body and Pure Body Extra Strength. You can find these superior products by clicking on the supplements tab at the top of this page.
I also believe in supporting entrepreneurship. The #1 way I see to build a business today is through network marketing because we know that "when you believe and invest in others, you make it possible for them to believe and invest in themselves". If you have thought about being your own boss and are interested in the health and wellness industry, please give us some serious consideration. We would be love to have you on our growing team.
Until tomorrow, have a happy health-filled day!
How do you handle disappointment? It comes in varying degrees and from all directions. It can sometimes be anticipated but often catches us off guard.
We have been helping alot of people deal with this lately. Parents disappointed in their children. Children disappointed in their parents. Friends disappointed in friends. Spouses disappointed in spouses. Even people disappointed about their life in general.
The reasons for disappointment are way too vast for a simple blog so I just want to talk a little bit about what to do when you find yourself disappointed. We all do at times, that's just real, but how we handle it can really make a difference.
Generally speaking disappointment comes from unmet expectations. What if we shifted our thinking here just a little? What if we anticipate the fact that people aren't perfect and situations are often difficult so that when things work out we can honestly be delighted!!?
Might that make it easier to deal with things that sorta fall short? It helps me for sure!
However, if you find yourself in a state of disappointment it's possible to use that feeling as fuel. Disappointment can drive you up and out, or down and out. Let's choose up and out! Sometimes we need each other to remind us that it really is a shift in thoughts. Also keep your self as healthy as possible. Our emotional health is directly connected to our physical health. Mostly our gut health. Lots of recent reports on the connection between gut health and depression! Supergreens +D from Touchstone Essentials is a key player in keeping our gut health in balance. In the year and half of taking this (and all of the Touchstone Essentials nutritional products) I can honestly say that bouncing out of low emotional times is much easier!!
What tends to disappoint you? People or circumstances? How do you deal with it? Share your thoughts knowing you may help someone else, and you might just feel better for it yourself!!
Have a happy health-filled day
Detoxing is great and necessary. We believe that detoxing needs to be done daily and we highly recommend the use of Touchstone Essentials Pure Body zeolite products. These are the only products we have found that truly detox at the cellular level. That being said we also know that there are tons of detox drink recipes out there that are yummy and easy to make. That is what I want to talk about today.
What I am going to share is obviously anecdotal, but certainly real and worth sharing.
I made a drink that contained parsley and cilantro, two very strong detox ingredients. I poured it into a metal drink bottle and off I went. I drank about half while I was out and about and put the rest in the fridge to save for the next day.
The next day came and I had an appointment to get a facial. I grabbed my detox drink in the metal container and headed to the salon. I finished my detox drink while at the salon and before it was time for me to leave, I became so sick!! So sick that the owner of the salon had to take me home. I was sick to my stomach, hot and sweaty, and super dizzy! I really could barely walk.
There is no doubt in my mind that the detox ingredients actually pulled some of the toxins in the metal container into the drink and you guessed it, I drank it! It took the rest of the day for all of the toxins to come out of my body and it wasn't pretty :(
So lesson here, detox is important, should be done daily, and detox drinks are great just not in metal containers!!
We had a discussion about the thoughts surrounding a new year. Many people agree that the calendar simply changing to January doesn't automatically feel like time for change. Most people have a better sense of the need for change around their birthday. Because my birthday happens to be on new year's eve, I have both!!
So, it is a new year and I am another year older. It really does feel like time to look at things a little differently, a little deeper. I have a settled sense of peace that I don't think I had before. I told my friends on Sunday that I feel sorta grown up! It only took 55 years but maybe I'm ready to be an adult.
One thing that is resonating in me right now is thinking about quality over quantity. I am doing some online study for personal growth and to be a better steward of the business we are involved with and can't help but notice how much STUFF is marketed out there!!!
You name it, you can find it! Can't name it? Just start looking and you'll find something you didn't even know you need and all of a sudden you will have an overwhelming sense of need for it! Too much!!
I want to do something this year and encourage you to consider it. I want to give a lot of thought to what we need, what we really need. Then I want to be purposeful about what I want, what I really want. Then I want to focus on finding the absolute best and not settle for good just to have more.
Let's flesh that out a little....
Obviously we need food. Let's not fill the pantry with processed food but let's choose daily the best and freshest food that will bring strength and nourishment. I want it to taste good, so that is a deciding factor.
We need gasoline for our car. Let's not fill our tank with subpar quality fuel that may damage our engine, but seek out and buy non-ethanol gasoline that is better for our engine, our environment and gives us better mileage. (We will do this until we get our Tesla, of course)
We need personal care items, like soap, shampoo, lotion, etc. Let's not fill our cabinets with products that actually interrupt our hormone balance and expose our cells to toxin simply because they smell good. Let's buy quality items that are pure, plant-based with healing properties. We can still enjoy smelling good because lots of these quality products use ingredients like coconut and almond oil, yum!!
Do you see where I am going with this? This thought process will trim away the need to be marketed to, because I will be seeking out the best and not waiting for major advertisers to sell me on what's best.
If you look at each category of need and want you have, you will find 100s if not 1000s of companies offering you what they say is best. We must know the truth about what makes a product the best then seek it out.
We have a short list of companies that we trust. Creating a short list is the only way to protect yourself from falling victim to scams and/or lessor quality ideas and products. We know that companies are ran by people and those people can be over taken by greed and sometimes move away from quality. This is true of many food and health and wellness companies. So, be vigilant. Never stop reading labels and googling ingredients.
I used to buy a particular brand of cracker. Crackers are processed food and should be eaten in extreme moderation, but I found one that we liked and it wasn't too bad. After several months of buying them and simply eating them, I re-looked at the list of ingredients and saw that they had added something new. When I did the research I found out that sales were done for this particular flavor so that had to add a flavor enhancer to get the sales back up. That flavor enhancer is an excitotoxin very similar to MSG.
So my goal for 2015 is to honestly evaluate our needs and wants. Pare back on how much we need. Seek out the very best in each category that we can afford. And lastly, remain vigilant about holding the companies we choose to support to the standards that first attracted us to that company. Guess what? We can do just that! Holding a company accountable is as easy as giving them your money or not!!
Will you join me? Will you choose to be a little more conscientious about your choices? Will you choose to be a little more honest about what you really need and want? Will you choose to be a little more picky about the products you buy? Together we can make a difference.
There are companies out there, many companies, that really shouldn't continue to survive. Companies that sell garbage! But they market it in such a way that we are fooled into buying it, consuming it, and end up paying an even higher cost with our health.
Have you made New Year's resolutions? Are you resolved to do things better?
I am actually starting this new year with a nasty flu bug!!My health has been improving so much over the last 15 months that getting sick has kinda thrown me off!!
That being so, I have decided to do some very deep and personal work. I have been focused on getting well, but also on “getting better”.
Personal growth is an important part of life that often gets moved to the back burner. Living life and simply getting things done is usually our default mode. So, this sick time has made me slow down and look at a few areas a little closer.
My husband and I enjoy the show Shark Tank (when we actually have time to watch TV!). The other night we saw a very compelling episode that really made me ponder what we are doing and why we are doing what we are doing.
There were 2 young men that have crafted very high quality golf putters. I know very little about golf but their message went way above golfing. They came onto the stage dressed in old fashioned golf attire and began talking about the legacy of golf. They spoke about the skill and craftsmanship that has been lost in the development of golf equipment. Very quickly the investors saw that the putters these young men have created as top of the line, like none they have seen, 1st in class, etc. Compliments flew, then all of a sudden things took a turn.
Sales were not fantastic in the United States but much better in Japan and Scotland and the investors all wanted to know why that was. The young men shared that they had taken their putters to the PGA and everyone was very impressed. They also had gone to Japan and Scotland and those folks weren't just impressed, they bought!! And bought a lot!
The reason for the difference in how these countries received these putters was astounding to me! In the US they were told that they would have to give a putter to every single big name in the PGA and wait for one of them to endorse it. In Japan and Scotland they did not see the need for celebrity endorsement because they could clearly see and appreciate the quality and integrity in these well crafted putters for themselves.
It saddens me to think that in our culture we have lost the ability to see quality and integrity unless someone with celebrity status points it out!
Why have we become people that value the opinions of others more than what we know to be true ourselves?
And why are the people we trust the most celebrities!?
We have walked away from the desire to build something made to last and traded it for something flashy. We have lost the idea of "legacy".
Most of you know that we got involved with Touchstone Essentials a little over a year ago. The reason we did is because we saw for ourselves that this is a company of the highest quality and integrity. We didn't see the need to wait for some celebrity to find out about it and then endorse it for us to be involved.
Touchstone Essentials is a lot like these two young men that have created these putters. Touchstone Essentials is in the business of creating the most comprehensive, high quality, top of the line, best-in class, whole-food health solutions available anywhere!! They are also passionate about impacting the world! Creating and leaving a legacy of health!
In the 15 months that we have been connected with Touchstone Essentials, we have seen people leave for more flashy ideas. Ideas that compromise the integrity they could clearly see with Touchstone Essentials. Ideas that gather hype and celebrity. Ideas that lack the foundational truth about purity and wholeness.
We know that desperation often leads to compromise. Building something to impact the world and creating a legacy takes time. In the supplement world particularly, there is a solid wall of lies that must be torn down before a legacy of purity and truth can be built.
We have decided to lock arms with Eddie Stone and his team at Touchstone Essentials, knowing that it is going to take some time for people to learn and understand what is really going on in the supplement world.
We also understand that finding like-minded people to help do this work and share this vision takes time. We have time...Certainly time for something this important.
What is important to you? If you are reading this and thinking that you would like to be involved with something big, something that has the ability to impact millions for many years to come, something that really does matter, maybe you should consider Touchstone Essentials.
No hype, little flash, lots of truth, and amazing life changing results is what Touchstone Essentials is all about. We focus on training and team building while sharing the truth about supplements with people that want to know. No high pressure stalking tactics, just caring and sharing.
Thanks for taking the time to read this and for considering how you decide to buy something. Do you look for quality then trust yourself when you believe you find it or do you wait for celebrities to sell you? Professional endorsement is fine but should not be the only standard we trust. Through personal growth you can become the person you trust the most!!
Even though right now I am sitting on my bed with a fever, cough, and sore throat I know that 2015 is going to be an amazing year for me! I am committed to personal growth to be healthy, well, and better! Nothing can sway we from this commitment, how about you?
Have a Happy, and Health-Filled New Year!!
Everyone deserves "the Good Inside," and, yes, "Purity is Possible."
